Semillon
The wine was crushed & immediately pressed off skins
before fermenting in stainless steel with specially selected yeast.
Dominated on the palate by citrus flavours the palate is both long
and persistent. A great
wine in its youth with oysters and shellfish, it will develop
toast/honey complexity with medium term cellaring.
A classic Hunter Semillon from a single old vineyard, a truly
unique world wine style.

Epitome*
This is a unique blend of 4 varieties, all grown
in the Hunter Valley. It is a wine of great interest and complexity,
the epitome of the art of blending. Chardonnay, which is the
predominant variety gives the wine body, Semillon adds crisp /
herbaceous characters, Verdelho gives a generous nose and fruit
flavours and Sauvignon Blanc freshens the blend. The resulting wine
shows peach and tropical fruit characters underscored by delicate
French oak. The palate is rich and full with a crisp, dry finish.
Best enjoyed young with dishes such as chicken ravioli.

Verdelho
Over
the last nine
vintages Allandale has established a fine track record
with Verdelho, consistently winning Gold medals and Trophies. The
2009 Verdelho follows stylistically from the previous vintages. The
fruit comes from two different vineyards, an old vineyard in the
Upper Hunter and a young vineyard next door to Allandale. The 2009
vintage was characterized by low yields but very high quality fruit.
Tropical flavours dominate both the nose and palate of this
Verdelho. The rich, ripe style will complement a wide variety of
food and is particularly well matched with seafood and Asian style
dishes.

Lombardo*
Predominantly
made from Pinot Noir grapes, Lombardo is a light soft red. The black
grapes used in Lombardo are given minimal skin contact & cold fermented
to retain varietal character. The nose displays lifted strawberry
characters typical of Pinot Noir while some residual sweetness makes
for an easy drinking style. In summer it is ideally served chilled.
Lombardo is meant to be consumed without extended cellaring. Dangerously
drinkable!

Hilltops Cabernet Sauvignon
Hilltops
is the region surrounding the township of Young in NSW. The warm
days and cold nights experience in Hilltops favours the production
of premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. To extract maximum flavour
and tannin, the grapes
were fermented in our open fermenter and hand plunged for
nine days prior to pressing. After 12 months in French and American
oak barrels the wine is deep cherry in colour, with
berry and coffee characters on the nose. The palate is full
with a fine tannin structure, typical of this area. This wine will
reward careful medium term cellaring and is best enjoyed with rich
red meats.
